Similar but less dark than writing your own obituary, and complimenting the vision boards you have hanging in your kitchen, this exercise is present and future looking. The idea is you are writing a story starring you as the protagonist. You determine the location the story takes place, the cast of characters you surround yourself with, and of course the plot of the story. This is an excellent way of self-reflection. When reading about the adventures and feats of famous historical figures throughout the ages, it can easily feel as if we’re reading a book of fiction, even though those experiences occurred on a day in time no different than today. To the people who lived those experiences, they weren’t fiction at all, they were their lives, their experiences.
