Tyer Wind has developed a revolutionary wind turbine that mimicking the motion of Hummingbird’s wings to generate energy.  Hummingbirds are one of the most energy-efficient flyers.  The turbines have two flapping wings that convert the wind kinetic energy using 3D Aouinian Kinematics.  Very cool!

Revolutionary flapping wind turbine mimics hummingbirds to produce clean energy

View Slideshow A new flapping wind turbine from Tunisia marks a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of mechanics. Until recently, scientists have been limited in their ability to apply new understandings of animal and human motion to machines, according to Tyer Wind. In the wind energy sector, this limitation has resulted in fairly simple and relatively inefficient turbines.
