Plants reflect light, and at the visible light spectrum, this is what gives leaves their green color, roses their vibrant red, and sunflowers their bright yellow.  However, plants also fluoresce which is a process that where they absorb the ultraviolet light and in doing so, emit the longer visible wavelengths light.

Photographer Craig Burrows went forth to capture this effect utilizing a technique called ultraviolet-induced visible fluorescence to photograph the light emitted by plants, in particular flowers.  The result is a collection of stunning images of flowers glowing.  You can see more of Craig’s work on his website here.
